End of life, or Before I Go sessions as I call them are an opportunity for me to help you capture your pet's sweet, silly self. Though it's difficult to think about our pets passing, it seems sometimes the snapshots we take everyday may not be able to fully convey the love we have for them. If you're always behind the lens or trying to get that selfie with them, it can be tough to be in the moment with them.
This is where I can help.
Whether we focus on just them, or them and their favourite people, as long as it's comfortable for your pet given how they're feeling, I'm game. We can plan for a quiet session in my studio, I can follow along on a little walk, a bucket list outing getting a favourite puppacino or maybe stay close to home or hang in your yard. Whatever's most comfortable for your pet and you.
In these sessions, my aim is that the images you receive will be added to your treasure chest of memories of love, and maybe... eventually... help process the grief of losing your beloved.
As a former hospice volunteer I understand the power that facing death brings and the honour that can be felt when present at the end of a life. Along with the experiences of losing my own pets over the years and participation in various pet-grief groups and courses I've come to realize that there's no one way to celebrate a life. Each life brings experience and uniqueness and can be marked, celebrated and mourned in a way that feels natural to the family, and I'm here to help.
I will always do my best to accommodate Before I Go sessions, though the sooner we can connect and I can learn about your dog and you, the easier it will be when it comes to the session. Some people like to do the sessions earlier on in a diagnosis when their loved one is feeling better, some may not have that time. Either way, if you're interested, please get in touch.

IN STUDIO SESSION FEE: starting at $195*
ON LOCATION SESSION FEE: starting at $225*
Session length can vary depending on a variety of factors, but mostly it comes down to your pet's comfort, age, and/or stage of their diagnosis. I set aside an hour so we can take things slow. I usually get the best images at the start of the session when your pet has some energy and is interested in the newness of what's going on, and then at the end when they are a bit tuckered out.
Within a week or two after our session, you'll receive access to a private on-line gallery from which you will be able to download your digital image files.
You will also receive a custom e-book, created by me containing select images from our session. Viewing session photos in this format takes one on a journey of the session and provides an opportunity for me to share not just the 'pretty pictures', but those little nuances that make your loved one who they are and who you love... the blinks, maybe a tongue out, maybe turning away from the camera, or maybe even napping.
Prints, print-ready digital image files and a hard or soft-cover version of your e-book can be purchased for an additional cost.
*I know firsthand that finances can get tight when dealing with an aging or ill pet, so my rates reflect that. However, if cost is the one thing holding you back, please let me know during the consultation and we can discuss options.
