Pets In Studio
The only thing your pet *has* to do in my session is "look cute", and every one of them nails it 100% of the time!
In-studio photo sessions for pets take place in my little studio on a quiet residential street in the Gorge/Admirals area of Saanich. By offering sessions in this setting, I'm able to provide a safe and comfortable space for them (and their wonderful humans) that's free from the distractions (and sometimes stresses) that outside sessions can bring.
But a studio setting can be a bit odd for some pets, so I like to meet them where they are. Some are stoked and ready to pose, others take a bit more time to warm up. I think of it as an art project. And though we talk ahead of time and make a plan, there's always room to switch things up if needed.
And though it's said 'a picture can speak a thousand words', when I photograph your pet, I see a story emerge.
A series of images all contributing to the make up of who your pet is.
So while I can appreciate the idea that
In a studio setting, this can be a very odd thing for pets. And while some are super cool with this new adventure, some are a bit weirded out. So, whatever your pet thinks of it, we meet them where they are.
My style allows for posed portraits, candids and embracing those impromptu moments -- what some may consider outtakes --, that I feel are the little bits n' bobs that help make your dog its unique self and the apple of your eye. After our session, I go through our images, getting a feel for the story we created together and then customize the look of the photos. This can include colour corrections, crops and conversions to black and white.
Whether your dog is the happiest-go-luckiest, or fearful, shy, or not great with other dogs... or maybe older, slower or palliative, I'd love to meet them and help capture all that you love about them.

All sessions come with a pre-session chat and/or on-line questionnaire. You also get to choose from my variety of backdrops, though if you're a creative type and have your own idea, I'd love to hear it!
Additional pets can be included though due to the small size of my studio, some conditions apply.
