the dollhouse
i bought this dollhouse at an experienced goods shoppe back in 2012. i've photographed it in different ways over the years none of the photos felt 'right'. a couple years ago i decided to give each room a theme that i based around what props i had around at the time as i'm a very 'use what you got' kinda person.
then came march 2020 and our town was shut down. the next time i went to my studio i started to see the dollhouse as more of a feeling - a representation - of what was happening around me.. people were seeking solace in the forest, away from others, some abandoned their homes to go live with family who needed help, no one went to movies, the actions of human on our animals and oceans were becoming clear and there were others whose to isolate with their only interactions being with their pets.
