Head on down to Kay's Korner in Cook St Village to see some of my Old, Re-Told photographs on display at the place where it all began - and of course check out the adorable store with some of the funkiest experienced goods in town! In fact, the set dressers of Gracepoint have even bought some pieces for the show!
Owner Karin is an incredible artist herself and has been my pusher over the last few years when it comes to the world of vintage kitchen utensils! Thanks Karin! The first big fundraiser for the Victoria Humane Society was held at Garrick's Head Pub. Lots of smiling faces and love in that place tonight!
This new rescue in Victoria can still use lots of support so check out their website for details on not only donating, but fostering, adopting and helping in other ways as well! I'm not one to really celebrate birthdays. I'm more the kind of person who takes her birthday as a chance to reflect on the year past and to wonder about the future. To think about the hellos and goodbyes, the times I was happy, and the times I was sad. To grab my camera and go on an adventure...
And since today is my 43rd birthday (holy crap), I did just that. But this time I had a new co-pilot, Mr C. The little man has proven he's more than capable to step in to the role. We took turns leading each other around. We ran through mud and then sat in peace in the sunshine and he even lay down next to me on the bench, just like Suzy used to. When we got home, the sun was still shining and the crocuses had opened so we went to the backyard to visit Suzy's grave. We told her we missed her, but not to worry about us - she should just make sure she's having oodles of fun with all her buddies - I know she's got lots of good company. So with my camera in hand and my Mr C as my co-pilot... here's a snapshot of our day together... so far. But now it's almost "happy hour" and my Pisces cocktail awaits... |
