The latest Gathering of Sleddies in Victoria was in honour of Daffy. She's not big on having the spotlight shone on her so her human and dog friends came to just hang out with her and her family and celebrate the remarkableness of what has transpired over the last 3+ years, as retired sled dogs from Whistler and beyond have selected their retirement homes. Yes, they've selected them. Over the course of hundreds of adoptions they have made a connection with their family/families - of love, trust and bonding. I could start telling stories, but honestly, I think the proof is in the photographs...I just hope I translate it because it's pretty adorable. So here's to you Daff, Miss Daffery, DaffDaff... hope you enjoyed your day! An afternoon romp and run with retired sleddies and a couple sleddie siblings in Heather's backyard: Snail (Bobbie), Jeff & Ben (Jill), ChiChi (Shannon), Willow, Farmer + Summer (Ann-Marie), Question, Daffy, Apex + Hurricane (Debbie), Niv + Stuart Little (Erin), and host Cola + Saru (Heather).
