the museum was admission by donation this week so rob and I headed over. I've been going to this museum for as long as I can remember... all through elementary school we'd go for field trips and when I was older and it was still free to get in, my friends and I would go just for something to do.
Some things have changed, some are exactly the same. My favourite part by far this time wasn't something I could photograph though - it was the little pod in which to sit and listen to a First Nations lullaby. As adults - especially ones without kids - I can't remember the last time we heard real lullaby - one that is meant to lull you off to dreamland - but those 5 or 10 quiet minutes listening to the soft voices lulling us towards dreamland within the hustle and bustle of the museum during free-week, were totally transformative.
