Victoria Humane Society spokesdog Gus, a puppy "parade", some stylish clothes, a gaggle of adoptable dogs and some real 4-legged (and a super special 3-legged) superstars!
Thanks to Jaxx for giving me such a fantastic final shot... with his eyes closed. If you know me, you know how much I love photos of dogs with their eyes closed (I've made two books on it!). Thanks to Outlooks for Men for such an incredibly fun event benefitting the important and tireless work of the Victoria Humane Society! Part movie set, part stage set, all the mind of a creative genius. For a complete tour of this studio which must been seen to be believed ~~ please click HERE. The Victoria premiere of Somewhere to Go: Punk Victoria at the Roxy!
"By tracing the roots and continuing legacy of the Victoria BC punk scene, this documentary explores broader themes of rebellion, culture and community" If you missed it, watch their facebook page for more showings! So proud of Paulina Ortlieb along with Rob Nesbitt, Steve Bailey and all the people involved in bringing this film to the screen! I've been neglecting my backyard for the last year or so, so it looks best at night or in the frost.
Last year I posted 'in the night garden'. Here's 'in the frozen garden'. Our friends Steve + Nadine have a condo on the 13th floor and Rob and I got to visit. Here's how I saw it... lights out.
It looked like summer, but felt like winter.
The sun shone and you could see your breath. Loading gear, hurry up and wait. New connections, old friends and the feeling of 20 years ago. Bum band playing live, hugs for the birthday girl, and braking for geese in Stanley Park. Photo ops with a rented lens and random dogs... of course. it was hot the other evening so I went to cool off in the garden
the light was on outside the shed and I saw my garden illuminated in a whole new way Me and the Mister packed up the car and headed to Savona for the weekend to visit family. Family I didn't grow up with, but am now getting to know better with each visit.
I didn't get a lot of photos of the humans. I think I was just too busy taking it all in as it turned out to be pretty overwhelming - but the dogs... I got lots of photos of the dogs. Lucky for me, these incredibly warm and welcoming people are now a part of my life, so there's lots of time for more photo ops. Karaoke and (low) cliff diving next time for sure. xoxo |
